Frequently asked ​questions.

  • What is a notary public? A notary public is a public servant who serves as an impartial witness in signings, taking acknowledgments, administering oaths, and other acts authorized by law.
  • What is a mobile notary? Mobile notaries travel to the customer's location to perform notarizations. They may charge up to the maximum fee set by state law for notarization services. Some states may also charge a separate travel fee to the customer's location.
  • The state appoints Mississippi notaries to serve the public as unbiased, impartial witnesses to document signing.
  • Notaries are required to authenticate signatures for transactions to close. Therefore, signers will need a form of ID. The ID must be current, have a photograph and signature, and show serial or other identification numbers.

Requirements for documents:

All signers, including witnesses, must present ​a valid photo ID. This can include

  • a valid state-issued driver's license
  • US military ID card
  • a US passport
  • other state or federally-issued ID with ​photo and signature


Signers must complete all forms except the ​principal's and notary's required signature.


Please don't leave spaces blank; put N/A if ​that is the recommendation of the lender or ​institution.


Review documents for correct dates and ​spelling.

Mobile Notary Public Fees:

  • All notarial fees are based on MS Statutory Code.
  • Additional travel charges are based on service and location.
    • $50 flat fee minimum for travel plus an additional $1 per mile that exceeds a 10 mile radius from Gulf Coast Notary Professionals’ office.
    • Mobile Loan Document Packages range from $150-$300
